Gary

After 10 years in the legal profession Gary changed direction to spend 17 years running and growing CD (UK) Ltd. Initially working with his father, Gary managed the transition to take over leading the business at the same time as finding a way to release value for his father. Gary then sold CDUK through an MBO process to the company’s Managing Director.

Having also gone through the ups and downs of founding an internet start-up business, Gary brings a unique set of experiences to Aurik that can help business owners scale and grow towards an exit or to succeed the business to the next generation.

Johan is one of the directors of Aurik Business Cape Town & KZN. 

Before investing in Aurik, Johan worked in mergers and acquisitions, where he saw the scale of the challenge facing business owners who believed they could sell their businesses.

Johan was already running his first business while qualifying for his B.Comm in Entrepreneurship. He subsequently started and built several companies across sectors including IT, Finance, Publishing and Digital marketing. For 10 years he ran a financing company that offered bridging and project finance, among other solutions. He spent 2 years in a large corporate, where he was a project manager on a range of FMCG projects. This accumulated experience developed his borderline-obsession with what he calls ‘the end game’: building a business so that it can be sold.

After establishing Wills @ Home in 2009, Maria completed the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation for England and Wales. Maria’s estate planning knowledge and robust financial background allows her to aid clients in making informed decisions when planning their Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
